May 7- 28 Four week session May performance workshop for recital.

 

Cost:

8 week - $60 both classes $30 one class

May Session - $30

Family plan- $60 1st child $20 each additional child

If you are on unlimited family plan in Vitoria Dance School then it will be $10 per child each session.

 

 

Drama

We will learn stage basics such as stage terms, lighting, make-up, scenery, sound and props. Learning about scripts- reading a script, memorization tips, and blocking. We will also work on expression- facial, body and vocal expression. The students will learn about performing through skits, auditioning for roles in Vitoria Dance Company‘s Christmas and Easter performances, and skits or a 1 act play for the recital.

 

Dance

Students will study a variety of styles from week to week. Students will learn an introduction to ballet techniques. They will also study jazz and hip hop techniques. Jazz and hip hop style is more up beat and not as slow and structured as ballet. Vitoria Dance School never uses music with lyrics that are inappropriate. Modern will also be introduced. Modern is a mixture of ballet and jazz. An introduction to tap will get your happy feet moving. Worship lyrical will teach basic lyrical techniques but will also teach students to worship our Heavenly Father through dance. Learning to glorify God using our gift of dance will be our main focus. Student will perform in the recital at the end of the year. Students may also, have an opportunity to audition for roles in the VDC* Easter and Christmas performances.

 

 

VDPA policy:

• To participate in the year end recital you must attend three out of the four 8 week sessions and May session.
• Home school students are able to participate in VDS movie nights, and worship nights. The home school group can also form a bible study group like the VDS Youth Company if they would like.
• Vitoria Dance Company, which is the professional dance company of Vitoria Dance School will sometimes have auditions for Vitoria Dance School student roles in their productions. The homeschool students may, and are encouraged to audition for these roles. Vitoria Dance Company performs at churches, schools, and theaters in central Ohio.
